Despite monster days from Rajon Rondo and Deron Williams, many social media users still wanted to talk about LeBron James‘ purse/murse he was carrying while walking through the tunnel in the Staples Center on Sunday. What’s in there? Why was he carrying it? All legitimate questions.
Is it just a dopp kit with some toiletries; a true male purse with his favorite items to take on the go; or was it something else. I’m going with the something else. I’m theorizing it was LeBron’s little bag for stacks of cash like seen in the Floyd Mayweather picture below. I’m thinking the fashion-forward duo of James and Dwyane Wade had planned to go shopping in L.A. after the game and James brought his cash along.
Since the NBA is a copycat league (i.e. black-rim glasses), James has, under this theory, adopted the recently-reported, old-school Allen Iverson practice of ‘buy-it-and-leave-it’ with clothing. This would mean James wouldn’t need a bag, but would buy clothes on the road with cash and leave whatever he doesn’t want to carry as a gift for the hotel’s cleaning staff. A practice fit for a King.
Wade on the other hand is a bit more resourceful and will wear the clothes he buys over the base layer he’s wearing. Or maybe Wade is trying to make the ‘skinny shirt’ the new ‘skinny jeans’. Is LeBron’s murse this season’s new K.D.’s backpack? ‘So many questions,’ says social media.
