Celtics forward Paul Pierce passed Larry Bird to overtake the No. 2 spot on the Boston Celtics’ all-time career scoring list.
“Just want to thank everyone who has supported me my whole career to my teammates my coachesmy family and all my fans Thank You,” Pierce posted on Twitter after the game.
Pierce scored 15 points in the Celtics’ 94-84 win over the Charlotte Bobcats to surpass Bird’s career total of 21,791 points. Pierce, now with 21,797 points, trails John Havlicek who scored 26,395 points as a Celtic.
