Los Angeles Lakers forward and social media sports star Metta World Peace made it clear during the NBA playoffs that he doesn’t like players all up in his grill after dunks (Oklahoma City Thunder’s James Harden walked into an elbow from Artest in the playoffs following a dunk); and he apparently likes his MTV Video Music Awards’ experience without blunts. In a recent interview appearing in the latest issue of SPIN magazine, founder of the band Wavves, Nathan Williams, recalls of times when the Lakers’ forward was looking to do some ejecting rather than be ejected.
“Metta World Peace tried to get me kicked out of the VMAs for smoking a blunt. He was like, ‘Put it out, now.’ “
In 2010, World Peace, then Ron Artest, told a group of reporters his stance on the subject when he said: “Even if they legalize marijuana, I won’t be smoking marijuana.”
