In a rematch between LSU and Alabama for the BCS Championship, it was another low-scoring affair that mirrored their first regular season matchup in Tuscaloosa where the Les Miles-led Tigers beat Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide 9-6.
The defenses for both teams, stacked with NFL talent, dominated the game once again making the kickers a crucial part of the game.
The majority of the social networking sports world, hoping to see more offense in round 2, was largely disappointed as five Alabama field goals by Jeremy Shelley and a Trent Richardson TD run with 4:36 left in the game was all the scoring that took place in the game.
LSU became the first team to get shut out in a BCS game and Saban won his third national championship.
I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a punter run the length of the field to talk sh_t in the punt returner’s face. Brad Wing: never, ever change.

So will this game be decided by a suicide squeeze or penalty kicks?
— Micky Arison (@MickyArison) January 10, 2012
Plz dnt be another defensive game…dnt leave it up to the kickers…. #sheeshhhh

This game is so boring
— Tashard Choice (@tchoice23) January 10, 2012
Alabama’s defense has been unbelievable, but Jordan Jefferson looks like he’s never played football before.

There are some grown men playing on these defenses. My God.

This game sucks

No question which team is the best prepared for this game. Bama has a great plan. LSU better try something different soon or it is over.
— Rich Brooks (@UKcoachbrooks) January 10, 2012
This game is no worse/better than Butler-UConn championship game. College teams r imperfect. Bama and LSU didn’t purchase great QBs.
— Jason Whitlock (@WhitlockJason) January 10, 2012
Once again, these are 2 GREAT defenses but the QBs aren’t even average. The receivers aren’t much more, not in this game anyway…

Anyone know were I can watch a replay of the Stanford/OSU game?

Rumor: After the game, Les Miles will change his name to Les Yards.

At least LSU can say they beat the national champions on the road earlier this year in a game that was totally meaningless.
