If there were any concerns about Peyton Manning‘s ego being damaged after being discarded to the side by the Indianapolis Colts for Andrew Luck, those concerns should be gone by now. With Manning being recruited like a blue-chip high school prospect, Manning’s every move has been tracked by social media and sportswriters. The latest on the Manning sweepstakes has two teams reportedly to be the favorites for the services of the future Hall-of-Fame quarterback. The Denver Broncos and the Tennessee Titans.
“Titans remain leader. Source says Manning has deep respect for Elway and agreed to meet them today. Broncos know they are second,” tweeted Clay Travis, @ClayTravisBGID. The Broncos are still hopeful and are reportedly offering Manning a contract for around $60 million over 5 years.
Michael Lombardi of the NFL Network tweeted that Manning will have a workout with the Titans at a yet-to-be-determined date, while the Miami Dolphins are reportedly not an option for Manning.
Another team has emerged as a suitor on Friday afternoon.
“Filed to ESPN: Third team in Manning race that has emerged is 49ers – Manning worked out for Harbaugh & took physical this week #NFL32,” tweeted Chris Mortensen, ESPN.
Is your team still alive?
