With the NBA lockout still in full effect, Oklahoma City Thunder forward Kevin Durant has been a busy man this summer.
He traveled around the country playing at various streetball/pro-am spots, helped promote the Nike Mags and also debuted his youtube show, “35th Hour”, earlier this month which gives viewers an inside look in the life of the NBA superstar.
The next move?
“1st day on the set of my new movie. Having a great time. This is wild babe!” tweeted Durant.
The movie is a Warner Bros. project and features a basketball subplot and will be shot in Baton Rouge, Louisiana according to multiple reports.
Durant was asked by a follower if he was remaking Blue Chips, the 1994 film about a fictional college basketball team that featured Nick Nolte, Shaquille O’Neal and Anfernee Hardaway. Durant joked that he was going to reprise the role of Neon Bordeaux which was played by O’Neal in the original.
“Yeah im neon lol,” Durant tweeted. “lol nah more of a kiddie joint..there’s no remaking blue chips.”
“NBA lock out let’s make them movie stars ….” tweeted Brandon T. Jackson, actor and stand-up comedian. “On the set of my new movie with Kevin durant.”
Durant joins a long list of NBA hoopers that have made appearances on the silver screen including Michael Jordan, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Ray Allen, Charles Barkley and others.
