Billionaire and Indianapolis Colts’ owner Jim Irsay took Twitter prizes to another level on Wednesday by giving away $1,100 to a follower who was able to correctly answer his sports trivia question.
“5 to 3 was enough fer these gunslangers 2take down motown-what historic moment do I tweet of?$100 n Colt hat signed by me n 4ScentedCandles,” tweeted Irsay on Tuesday.
After no one correctly answered to claim the initial prize of $100 after an hour on Thursday, Irsay sweetened the pot.
“I have u guys stumped? I thought u guys were unstumpable! I’m throwing another $1000 on prize pile just cause I’m so proud of my stumpabilty,” Irsay tweeted.
Irsay received a couple of correct answers later which he would draw names from a hat to determine the winner. The answer that Irsay was looking for was the lowest scoring playoff game in NFL history which was a 5-0 victory for the Dallas Cowboys over the Detroit Lions in 1970.
The reason that Irsay was able to stump his followers for as long as he did was because his ‘question’ had incorrect information.
“3 + to(2)= 5-sorry,had to google proof it-cowboys beat lions 5 – 0/1970,” tweeted Irsay explaining his question.
This isn’t the first time Irsay has given away cash on Twitter. Last week he offered $500 to the person who tweeted the best random act of kindness he/she performed that day.
Irsay hopes to bump the prize amounts even higher.
“I want that $220 Million Powerball money,then I could give22 ten million $ chunks on twitter”When every1luvsMeI’llbAsF#*kedupAsIcouldB” Irsay tweeted.
