Houston Texans’ Arian Foster made waves in the social networking sports world earlier this season when he tweeted a picture of his MRI. The Pro Bowl running back is back at it again with a new haircut destined to be the focus of social media chatter.
“Check out my dawg @ArianFoster cut! #ReppinToTheFullest,” tweeted Duane Brown, Houston Texans left tackle.
Foster is in his third year in the NFL and has been voted to the Pro Bowl twice after landing with the Texans in 2009 as an undrafted free agent. As a result, Foster is getting paid like a special teams player and isn’t even one of the top 40 highest-paid Texans on the roster.
The organization balked at giving him a new contract after his 2010 season, but there is increasing pressure from the media and fans to award Foster with a new contract.
Foster marches to the beat of his own drummer in the social networking sports world and uses the social media website, Twitter, to post his poetry, encourage his followers to give hugs, talk about his yoga routine, denounce Fantasy Football owners, etc. He is fan favorite on and off the field.
Simply put, this is a guy who you want on your football team. Texans need to be proactive and get to work on that contract.
